Founded in Henderson, Nevada in 1999, 51³ÉÈ˵¼º½â€™ mission is to advance the health and wellness of our communities by educating future generations of competent health professionals, conducting research, and providing patient care.

In support of this mission, Roseman has invested in developing state-of-the-art research facilities, building infrastructure and research support services, and creating workforce development programs to establish southern Nevada as a prime location for start-up and relocating bioscience companies, including pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, and medical device manufacturers.

Roseman offers an innovative physical and resource environment where scientists and educators collaborate to conduct research and create new breakthroughs.

Research Campus & Facilities

Located in the affluent Las Vegas community of Summerlin, 51³ÉÈ˵¼º½â€™s campus is comprised of three buildings totaling 431,425 square feet of office, lab, conference room, and common space. An additional 30 acres of land owned by the University will be developed in the future as part of a campus masterplan. Currently, the campus includes:

  • 69,000 square feet of available state-of-the-art, turn-key laboratories as well as office space.
  • 10,000 square feet of vivarium and laboratory space.
  • A 100-seat auditorium, restaurant, and medical and dental patient care space.
  • Just minutes in walking distance of the campus buildings is Element Las Vegas Summerlin, a boutique hotel operated by Marriott, offering convenient accommodations to visitors.

Currently in development and pursuing accreditation, 51³ÉÈ˵¼º½â€™s College of Medicine is based at the Summerlin Campus, as is Cure 4 The Kids Foundation, an independent division of the university providing comprehensive outpatient care to children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases.

Infrastructure and Research Support Services

ANIMAL SUBJECTS RESEARCH SUPPORT
Supporting over 10,000 square feet of vivarium and lab space for animal research, 51³ÉÈ˵¼º½ offers full-time, certified husbandry staff to provide a wide array of husbandry care and services.

CLINICAL COLLABORATIONS
51³ÉÈ˵¼º½ offers the opportunity for clinical collaboration with its accredited academic programs in the Colleges of Dental Medicine, Pharmacy, and Nursing, as well as the College of Medicine.

GRANTS ADMINISTRATION
51³ÉÈ˵¼º½â€™s Grants Administration Office provides administrative, contracting, and financial services to assist in the development and management of sponsored projects to support the University and its research community through the entire grant lifecycle.

MEDICAL LIBRARY
With access to a vast collection of resources & databases, the 51³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Library can assist with research projects in a variety of ways: as an advising resource, consulting support role, or in the case of more extensive projects, librarians can assist as a member of the research team.

HUMAN SUBJECTS RESEARCH SUPPORT
The 51³ÉÈ˵¼º½ Institutional Review Board safeguards the rights and welfare of human subjects who participate in research conducted under the auspices of the University or external partners, and to ensure that subjects are aware of their rights and protections available to them.

The University’s human research protection program is based on three basic ethical principles described in the National Commission for the Protection of Human Subjects of Biomedical and Behavioral Research. The three principles are respect for persons, beneficence, and justice.

The IRB is charged with the review of all research projects that involve humans. The IRB has the authority to approve, require modifications (to secure approval), or disapprove all research activities that fall within its jurisdiction as specified by both the federal regulations and institutional policy.

Workforce Development

Masters-trained scientists play an essential role in research and development. The only program of Its kind in the Intermountain West, 51³ÉÈ˵¼º½'s Master of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences (MSPS) program is designed to provide students with real-world skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in the biosciences industry. The program's coursework covers a wide range of topics, including:

Students also design, conduct, and present original research projects, gaining valuable hands-on experience.
